Yes. The Learning Matrix is part of TraineryOPS, which is included with every Trainery subscription at no extra cost. You do not need to upgrade to access it.

Can the matrix distinguish between required and optional training for each role?

Yes. Each training program can be mapped as required, recommended, or optional per role. The matrix respects these designations so compliance reports focus on mandatory gaps rather than mixing them with optional development items.

Can we export the matrix for an auditor or regulator?

Yes. The matrix and any filtered view can be exported at any time in audit-ready formats. Exports include completion dates, assessment scores, and individual employee records so regulators and internal compliance teams have everything they need in one document.

How does the matrix update when employees change roles?

When an employee is assigned a new role in TraineryCORE, the Learning Matrix updates automatically to reflect that role's training requirements. Previously completed courses that satisfy the new role's requirements are carried over and new gaps are immediately visible without any manual reconfiguration.

Can the Learning Matrix be filtered by a specific regulation rather than just a department?

Yes. The matrix can be filtered by regulation, certification type, department, location, and role simultaneously. A compliance officer managing multiple regulatory frameworks can pull a regulation-specific view to see exactly who is compliant and who is not without sifting through unrelated data.

Does the matrix show external learners like partners and customers, or just employees?

By default, the Learning Matrix covers internal employees. Organizations using Trainery's Extended Enterprise Training capability can configure separate matrix views for external audiences such as partners, resellers, or association members with the same color-coded compliance status and filtering capability.

How far in advance does the matrix flag upcoming expiries as yellow?

The alert threshold is configurable per certification or program. Most organizations set the yellow status to trigger 30 to 90 days before a deadline or expiry date. This threshold can be adjusted per regulation or certification type to match specific compliance windows.
